The Impact of Urbanization on Extreme Climate Indices in the Yangtze River Economic Belt, China

Urbanization has been proven to be a critical factor in modifying local or regional climate characteristics. This research aims examine the impact of urbanization on extreme indices Yangtze River Economic Belt (YREB), China, by using meteorological observation data from 2000 2019. Three main steps are involved. First, clustered threshold method based remote-sensing nighttime light is used extract urban built-up areas, and rural stations can identified boundary areas. Nonparametric statistical tests, namely, Mann–Kendall test Sen’s slope, then applied measure trend characteristics indices.
